League of Women Voters of El Paso Annual Women’s Equality Day Celebration
Join the League of Women Voters of El Paso for an inspiring evening of history, civic engagement, and community at the beautiful Sunset Parlor in El Paso, Texas, on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
Our Annual Women’s Equality Day Celebration commemorates August 26, 1920, the date the 19th Amendment was officially certified, recognizing women’s constitutional right to vote. More than a century later, voting remains the foundation of our democracy, and protecting that right for every eligible citizen is as important today as ever.
This year’s celebration will feature a compelling panel discussion addressing voting issues affecting our nation. Learn what happens to your ballot after you cast your vote, gain a better understanding of how ballots are processed, counted, and protected, and hear from respected local and state leaders about the importance of civic participation and safeguarding the right to vote.
This is an opportunity to ask questions, become better informed, and participate in a meaningful conversation about the future of our democracy.
Whether you are a longtime voter, a first-time voter, or simply want to better understand our election process, this important event is for you.
Guests will also enjoy a delicious dinner, a cash bar, and the opportunity to win amazing door prizes throughout the evening—all in the elegant and welcoming surroundings of the Sunset Parlor.
Come celebrate the courageous women who fought for equality, honor the generations who expanded voting rights, and stand with those who continue working to ensure that every citizen’s voice is heard.
Come for the celebration. Stay for the conversation. Leave informed, inspired, and ready to make your voice heard.
Your voice matters. Your vote matters. Democracy depends on all of us.
