Vote In Person

In El Paso County, registered voters may vote in the county of their residence at any of their county's polling locations during Early Voting or on Election Day.

CONFIRM YOU ARE REGISTERED TO VOTE AT LEAST 30 DAYS BEFORE THE ELECTION

  • To confirm your registration, go to the Texas Secretary of State’s Am I Registered? Tool.
  • If you aren’t listed as active, you are not registered. Please register! See Voter Registration.

CONFIRM YOU HAVE PHOTO ID

CHOOSE WHEN AND WHERE YOU WILL VOTE

  • El Paso County has county-wide voting centers for Early Voting and on Election Day. This means a voter may vote at any polling center in his/her county of residence. You can find your county's polling locations on VOTE411.org or:
  • The League of Women Voters highly recommends voting during Early Voting.

RESEARCH CANDIDATES AND ISSUES ON YOUR BALLOT

  • Go to Vote411, the League’s online, interactive voters guide for nonpartisan information on candidates and ballot issues.
  • Or download the  Voters Guides from our website.
  • During Federal elections, the League supplies printed nonpartisan Voters Guides at area libraries.
  • No phones are allowed at the polls, so print out or make a list of your selections.

What To Bring To The Polls

  • A Valid Texas Voter ID
  • You are not required to have your voter registration certificate with you to vote. However, it can be useful to have with you if:
  • you do not have a primary form of voter ID, such as a Texas Driver's License or a passport or
  • there are any issues at the polling location finding you on the voter rolls*.
  • You are NOT allowed to use your cell phone for any purpose in the voting booth.
  • You ARE allowed to refer to your notes on paper about whom you want to vote for.

*Voter rolls - lists of persons who are entitled to vote for particular elections in a particular jurisdiction

Additional Information to Know

What if my ID doesn't match my voter registration?

The voting law in Texas is your name from your voter registration must be "substantially similar" to your Texas Voter ID:

  • Small differences: As log as the first AND last name are mostly correct, with only a small difference such as a missing or extra letter, they will let you vote.
  • Big differences: If the first name is wrong or the last name if different (e.g. Smith-Walker vs Walker), you will need to either:
  • re-register to vote with your correct name, or
  • submit a change of name a Texas Secretary of State Name & Address Change site

Coronavirus/COVID-19

  • You are not required to wear a mask in order to vote, but we highly recommend you do.
  • Election poll workers also are not required to wear a mask, gloves, face shield, etc.. If you go to a polling location where this is the case and you are uncomfortable voting there:  El Paso county uses countywide vote centers so you may vote at any polling location in the county. To find a different voting location::
  • Go to:  Countywide Vote Centers
  • If you wear a mask and the Election Judge asks you to pull down your face mask, you may decide for yourself depending on conditions if you want to comply or refuse. If you refuse, they must still allow you to vote provisionally and then cure it afterward.
